Some problems will be given for homework. If they don't get how to do it yet, thats ok.. They will understand it by the end of next month.. Anything you can to do to help would be great. Mainly help with the concept that they have to equate the value on both side and solve for X.

Practice reading a short one page passage and have your child retell what they read about. Even if you read an unfamiliar picture book and ask them what they have read after for comprehension. (It will help!) thanks in advance.

A new core literature book has been given by Andrew Clements, called Frindle.
Frindle Chapter questions will be given every Monday and Tuesday.
We will be reading the book in class, but it may be necessary to re-read the book in order to answer the assigned questions. Make sure the black journal is always in their backpack so I can check to make sure these questions are complete.

Jon had 8 bananas gave 3 to Sue. Then Karen gave Jon 5 bananas. How many does Jon have now?
Your child must know all Language Arts concepts, for example: letter writing (greetings and closings), prefixes, spelling words, and vocabulary. The test randomly choses only a few items from each topic.
