This is making a connection to literature read in the classroom.
The easiest project of the year:)
Put items in a bag to share.
Something warm to your heart. (not like hot tea or a hot pepper)
Something from long ago. (not a teddy bear... that isn't but 9 years old)
Something that makes you cry. ( a boy brought a leash of his dog that passed)
Something that makes you laugh. (Ex: a video)a joke book
Something as precious as gold. (Ex: a coin)pic of family
If any items are valuable just draw a picture or print out a photo... A child brought in his grandfather's purple heart....(DON'T BRING THESE PLEASE!)
Star is born Project due September 16th Create a collage of photos of yourself on poster board. You can use the poster board (no bigger than 24" by 36") from Walgreens or cardboard box. Decorate the board with various photos around A Star is Born sheet of paper, given the first day. (PDF below) Add photos of yourself at every year of your life.
Please remember to glue.. A Star is Born paper in the middle of the poster board and decorate the remaining space with fun photos. (please no poster board bigger than the generic poster board at Target or Big Lots/99 cents store.)

Animal Project due November 9th
Things to include in the Animal project
Do not put this on poster board! It must be in a report folder.
Start with a cover page with a photo of your animal
Include a table of contents which includes the following:
page one: What do I know about my animal before starting project? (This page written weeks before it is due or researched)
page two: What do I want to know about my animal? (Think of at least 15 things you wonder about)
page three: What physical characteristics I learned about my animal.
page four: What is my animal's habitat? Describe in detail....
page five: illustrations
Provide 3 or more illustrations and 2 must be drawn by you.
page six: bibliography Use a minimum of two sources (one being a non-fiction book)
Where did you get your information from? Title, author, and copyright date

Micro Society (If we are back in school)
Gather stuff in a box or bag for our Micro Society. Activity in the first week in May
Students bring a bag or two of things they no longer want or need.(NO Stuffed Animals Please) One trash is someone's treasure. Kids learn how to buy and sell with pretend money. Bring anything even a toy missing an arm is fun. Because of storage don't Bring in bags until May 10th.
Adventure Game Project
This game must be literature base... All the boxes must have something to do with the book of your choosing.
-Must include a start and a finish.
-Don't make it too confusing. (30 squares places minimum- all 1" by 1")
Cards are fun to use like in the game SORRY.
If use cards you don't need dice... (I also can provide dice)
Make creative pieces (characters from your book), but not too big (3 centimeters by 3 cm. perhaps)
MUST INCLUDE DETAILS FROM THE BOOK YOU ARE READING THIS MONTH.
Don't include slides or ladders because these cause the game to end to quickly
Don't make up facts
All details must prove that you have read the book
You must include your name, the book title and author on the board
Attach directions for the game on the back (objectives and rules)
GAME MUST BE EASY TO FOLLOW AND UNDERSTAND (start space-beginning of book) game should flow from the start of your book to the end of the book (finish line-ending)
add funny spaces like move back 2 spaces, lose a turn, go to the castle to rest, etc.
Start your gameboard project by making a list on index cards of details or events that have happened in your book.
The background of the posterboard gameboard should be an illustration of some sort that represents the setting of the story.
