Please let your child visit the website frequently... There are many educational games of all levels to play. (Even for their siblings)

In Social Studies we have been comparing the past with what we have today. Have your kids talk with their grandparents about the differences they have in life. Example: black and white television sets compared to the SMART TV we have today.
Grammar Study packet went home today for Treasures Unit 3 The second packet that went home has the vocabulary words on the first five pages(cut them out and write definitions on the back) all definitions can be found on the spelling and vocabulary tab on the left) the second five pages have the spelling words for the whole unit.
Also practice reading for speed in exercises in the grammar packet like on page 151 (reading for one minute) goal 70 wpm...
Study for the Unit 3 language arts final for January 16th. Get a start on studying and not waiting for the 4 days before the test when we return from 3 weeks off. (We will review in class all that week as well)
Please leave a little time to start the Independent study project due at the end of January. Look at the projects tab and follow the instructions.

Kids seem to forget daily.

Study Grammar packets for Treasures Final Friday November 7th are going home on Friday October 31th. Please practice all the skills. No spelling ABC, sentences, or Reading Inquiry. Just one journal writing and reading log daily.
Study the 30 vocabulary cards and 75 spelling words and all Grammar Exercises for the Final.

STUDY PACKET Friday September 19th Kids will bring home a large packet to review grammar exercises from Unit 1. (no worries if some pages are unfinished) Some pages we have reviewed in class and have not completed in the book.
We will be having a final for Unit 1 on Friday September 26th This Treasures Final is on all the spelling words, vocabulary words, and grammar concepts from the past 5 weeks. As you probably have noticed there isn't any Assignments this coming week except for free reading and maybe a journal writing. Use this time to study and have family time. Don't forget we have Thursday off on September 25th.

Homework Packets All Subjects: Please look through their work before it gets sent in daily. Many students haven't even read the directions and have to do the work over. If you have time to correct the work with them please leave "X"s where they missed a problem so concept can be addressed at school. Homework schedule is listed on the tab to the left.
BANKED TIME TUESDAYS start on August 19th which means school gets out at 1:25PM.. Please make necessary arrangements for pick up.. (Some Tuesdays are not 1:25PM, follow the memo from office)

Homework for the Week of August 11th Tuesday Read information on the Class website with your child. Bring in favorite book Write a paragraph that retells the book from beginning to end. Write a couple of sentences about why it is your favorite book.
Wednesday Sketch a map of your walking/ or driving to Fairburn Avenue School.
Thursday Bring in something to share. (Nothing valuable.... ex: 2nd place ribbon, key chain, photo) Fridays after lunch are the share days.
